What We Fund
Classroom Grants to Teachers
The cornerstone of the Foundation, this program provides annual funding for classroom grants within our district. Teachers are encouraged to submit grant applications, which are then reviewed by the Foundation's grant committee. The grants are awarded based on creativity and innovation, their ability to support established curriculum requirements, the number of students that will benefit, and the longevity of the materials requested. In addition, each program funded through the grants must be self-sustaining and require no additional funding from the Foundation to continue. These classroom-based projects enhance and enrich the learning environment for students of all grades on each campus. Exciting and challenging for students and educators alike, they allow each to embrace learning in an innovative way. These grants comprise programs and materials which would not be available to the students through traditional funding in the school system.

Grants such as creative reading and writing programs, science and hands-on math materials are some of the projects funded by Grants to Teachers. A life-sized rock wall, providing students with an opportunity to study geological formations first-hand, and an outdoor concrete geography map are two other examples of grants funded by the Foundation. Take home back-packs with books are another example of a funded grant, providing beginning readers with the materials to practice their new skills, and strengthen the home to school bond which helps to promote success in the classroom. Grant funding has included all grade levels and student abilities, enabling them to enjoy academic experience which would not have been otherwise available in the Jenks school district. These types of added experiences are a major reason that our district has an appropriate reputation for excellence in education, and a solid history of academic achievement.

Vision of Excellence Awards
Vision of Excellence Awards reward faculty and staff for outstanding qualities in leadership, continuous improvement, customer focus and teamwork.

Honored before their peers at the annual “Back to School” celebration, honorees receive an honorarium and a plaque to commemorate this achievement. The Vision of Excellence serves as a well-deserved incentive of recognition encouraging faculty and staff to perform at their highest and most creative levels for the benefit of the students.

Junior Achievement's BizTown
All Jenks Public Schools 5th graders participate in Junior Achievement's BizTown through a hands-on opportunity to learn how a city operates, by participating in its' business and local government structure. Utilizing Junior Achievement’s Exchange City, students spend a day performing the duties of mayor, business people, news reporters and other occupations important to the economy and quality of life in a community. This event gives our students a real-life experience; one that will enhance their grasp of information provided in the classroom. The day at Exchange City is the culmination of a five-week study of basic economics, which gives the students the chance to see their classroom learning come to live in real applications. This program is made possible by funds raised through Jenks Public Schools Foundation special events and donations.

Student Support Fund
This program provides silent funding for basic student needs in the district. This funding is provided through requests by principals for these basic needs throughout the school year.

Employee Appreciation Banquet

The Foundation has served as the major sponsor of this event for over a decade. Employees are honored for their dedication and service to the Jenks Public Schools at the annual Banquet.

GradFest
