In 1987, a group of dedicated parents, educators and administrators realized the need for teacher and student support within the Jenks Public Schools. They came together to form a local education foundation known as the Jenks Public Schools Foundation. The JPSF is comprised of a board including parent volunteers and administrators who are committed to providing the best academic experience for every student in the district.
The Foundation began with a teacher support and recognition program known as the Vision of Excellence, which honors outstanding educators and support staff each year with recognition and a cash award. From this beginning, the JPSF began to include additional support programs for the district, such as Classroom Grants to Teachers, Junior Achievement Biztown Curriculum and the Student Support Fund. This Fund provides silent funding for basic needs for qualifying students during the school year.
Since 1987, the scope and involvement of the Foundation has continued to grow, while remaining focused on the true mission of the founding members. “To serve as the catalyst for excellence in education” has remained as the primary goal of the organization, and will continue to carry the JPSF forward in our goal of providing the best academic opportunities for all students of the Jenks Public Schools.
